HMD Global has finally made the global version launch of the Nokia 8.1. Now Nokia 8.1 is also started to be available in Nepali smartphone market. Today we are going to review this power-packed device. So we will list out the Nokia 8.1 price in Nepal. With full specification, features, and comparison with other similar products. So let’s tame a look at this new Nokia 8.1 in Nepal.
The brand new Nokia 8.1 has a really interesting color design. Firstly, like almost every single Nokia smartphone from the recent past. This is a premium looking for the beautiful glass back and the dual tone metal frame. This is one of the great-looking smartphones. The front side is also interesting too despite little less distinctive. Because it has the notch, which is something we have seen in so many Nokia phones this year.
Secondly, there’s the chin with the Nokia logo at the bottom. So yes, it has the looks of a Nokia smartphone. But I just like how Nokia or actually global design their phone. how do they feel in the hands? it’s something I miss in many other mid-range smartphones. Thirdly, the color here really helps the Nokia 8.1 stand out. I think it looks different yet very very appealing.
The next thing I find appealing on the Nokia 8.1 is the display. It has 6.18 inch full HD+ IPS LCD pure display. Furthermore, with HDR 10 support now pure display. This is something that we first heard with the Nokia 7.1. However, it is said to upscale SD video content to HDR like quality.
Apart from that, pure display technology can also adjust the color contrast and brightness dynamically. well, you can always turn it off in the display settings. But you can keep it on to see if there’s actually any difference on your display. This is actually a beautiful display. it gets really bright and so far I love how color accurate it. A big thanks to HDR 10 support native HDR content. This makes the phone looks gorgeous.
Again, coming back to the design and build of the Nokia 8.1. It has a fingerprint scanner on the back which is decently fast. so that’s nice and there’s the USB C port the headphone jack the usual buttons and the dual sim and micro sd hybrid slot on board. However, there’s no notification LED here even though the notch has a huge shape.
Nokia 8.1 is powered by the Snapdragon 710 processor with up to 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The Snapdragon 710 is a processor that hasn’t really taken off even though it has been here for quite some time. Now, which is surprising because it’s a fairly capable mid-range processor. Anyway the benchmark scores of the Nokia 8.1 definitely better than what you get with a Snapdragon 636 or the 660.
Furthermore, when it comes to real-world performance. The phone runs smoothly and has great performance. We can do usual tasks like app launches or multitasking or bead gaming on this phone. Similarly, you can also play ASPHALT 9 and PUBG on this phone without any lag. The performance is quite impressive on Nokia 8.1. So, things look positive. Well, the good performance on the Nokia 2.1 can also be contributed to the fact that all of them come with android one support. Finally, the new Nokia 8.1 cannot be an exception to that.
The Nokia 8.1 comes with Android version 9.0 i.e Pie out of the box. so you will get the stock Android by the look and the stock Android by features. Because features like digital well being, the new gestures, and the various AI features can be seen. Furthermore, we can confirm that Nokia 8.1 will definitely get Android Q update fairly and quickly when it arrives. Hence, Nokia 8.1 definitely looks sorted when it comes to performance and software. But what about the cameras which have been the pain point of the recent Nokia smartphones?.
Well, Nokia 8.1 comes with a 12 megapixel and 13-megapixel dual camera set up with Zeiss optics on the back. Coming on the video friend the phone supports video recording in 4k. so the quality looks good and it’s fairly stable. coming to the front camera the Nokia 8.1 has a 20-megapixel selfie camera which should result in nice selfies.
well, most of these selfies look fine but almost all of them have a little bit of over-sharpening. overall the cameras on the Nokia 8.1 are not extraordinary but they should be decent for a mid-range smartphone.
lastly, there’s the battery Nokia 8.1 packs in a 3500 mAh battery. There is also fast charging support with an 18-watt wall charger bundle in the box. We haven’t tested the battery on the phone yet but I think it should be decent enough. well, that was our first look at the new Nokia 8.1. However, I think it’s the perfect successor to the pretty popular Nokia 7 plus.
The price of Nokia 8.1 in Nepal is expected to be Rs. 40,000. While in India the Global version of Nokia 8.1 is priced at Rs. 25,000. This is a mid-range phone but in the context of Nepal due to high price range, we can declare it as a flagship phone.
I really found that the phone has a lot of things useful. Going for it the design is beautiful and premium. The display is almost stunning, while the Snapdragon 710 seems very capable and the camera performance seems decent enough. However, I don’t know if these features of the Nokia 8.1 will be enough to be the towering POCO F1. But I believe Nokia 8.1 presents a good case for itself.
Hence, Those are the first impressions of the new Nokia 8.1. I also managed to list the Nokia 8.1 price in Nepal with full Features and specification.
